6-6-5 Tag

The rules for this tag are simple: Choose the sixth picture from your sixth picture folder and post it. Then, tag five people.

This picture is of Jase (Justin's brother) and a friends little girl in AZ. Justin and Jase had gone to AZ for a dental rotation during Dental School. I was back in NC ready to pop any moment with Joby. Justin came home the day before Joby was born.

I tag: Becca, Britta, Chrissy, Laurie, & Lexie

Kung-Fu Kids

Happy Birthday, Jerni!

Jerni is now 1 year old. The time has flown by with her. She is such a sweet, precious girl. Justin, Joby, and I love having her in our family and adore her calm spirit. (Justin and I secretly look forward to the day she can defend herself from Joby!)

Happy Birthday!

She's just so excited, she just can't hide it.

Thanks Joby for being such a great helper.

Tapping Pirate

Joby is usually not one to dress-up, but something tickled his fancy...

Tap shoes and a pirate costume.

After eating Thanksgiving dinner, the kids dressed up. Joby was a tapping pirate, Sofie had on 3 princess dresses on top of one another, Emma had several costume changes, and Lexie was a Home Depot employee.

Best Buds

We are so blessed to have some great friends here in Oklahoma. And so are the kids:

Aiden and Jerni

Joby and Emma

Christmas Boat Parade

We headed out last night to see the boat parade on the Oklahoma River. The Brewer's and the Sautter's were brave enough to come out in the freezing cold, also. We had a great time watching the firework show and eating Laurie's snacks (thanks, by the way). Joby was ready to go before the boats got started down the River, but we sat in front of them on the bank, so we'd seen enough. We left before the parade started and still sat in traffic. Afterwards, everyone came back to our house for some yummy hot chocolate.

A frozen family.

Joby wanted to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas, but Santa was not in the most cheery mood to listen.

Our little bundled-up baby!

Gingerbread House Decorating Party

I thought Joby would have fun decorating a Gingerbread House for the holidays. I invited a few of his friends to help. We had a house and a train. The house was easy to put together, but not the train. I had to ask for help from the other Mom's. THANKS! It was a lot of fun. The kids really got into decorating and eating the candy, of course.

I think they turned out quite nice!

Bows and Boys

I made some bows (with the help of Laurie) a few weeks ago and this and how they turned out:

This was all Joby's doing!

Down and Out

Joby caught the sick bug that has been making its way through the area. He woke us up the other morning with vomit on him and his bed. We got him and his room cleaned up and then it was time for Justin to head out to school. I knew he was tired, but I didn't think he was this tired...

Stand Tall

Jerni is pulling up on things more and more these days. She'll be 11 months tomorrow and soon we'll enter the walking phase. I'm not too excited, but it is very exciting to see her growing.

What a Mess!

Justin and Tony were watching the BYU game and Angie and I went out shopping, so the kids were left to fend for themselves (not really, but sort of). This was the mess that came from the evening:

It was all cleaned up by the time we got home. THANK YOU!

So long, Soccer!

Joby had his last soccer game of the season yesterday. He made some progress as the season went on, but we are going to wait a few years to put in him any sport that involves competition. He is just not ready for this kind of sport. Coach Becca was sick, so the Medal Ceremony was very brief. Thanks Becca for all your hard work, patience, and support!

Joby needed a little help.

During half time, the kids were getting out every ounce of energy. They had more fun running around Justin, than playing in the soccer game.

Justin volunteered to be the coach, since Becca was sick. He's a busy man.

Happy Halloween

Last night, we went trick-or-treating with some friends. To kick off the night, we had pizza for dinner and then, all the candy you can carry in a bucket. We went door-to-door in a friends neighborhood and then, did a few houses in our neighborhood. We had lots of fun and now have too much candy.

Yes, this is Joby's Halloween costume. A Halloween football player.

Happy Halloween from the OK Olsen's!

Haunt the Zoo

The OKC Zoo puts on a great Halloween festivity every year-Haunt the Zoo. It's 1.5 miles of pumpkins lining the way for candy. There's picture spots all over of different scenes of Halloween, airplanes, trains, The Wizard of Oz, fairies, etc. Every few feet there's a sponsor of the event handing out candy--good candy. Joby would ask, "Where's another trick-or-treat?" We had a great time together that night, along with every other person from OK.

Joby waiting patiently to sit in the airplane that looked like the picture behind him.

Good things are in our future!

The cow from Chick-fil-A. Joby knew him right away.

The highlight of Jerni's night. Something to gnaw on.

The clowns were making balloon animals. This is a giraffe.

Orr Family Farm 2008

Our 2nd Annual trip to Orr Family Farm was this past Friday. We had a great time with The Sautter's and The Johnson's. We rode the carousel, the train, big tricycles, played at the park, and went on a hayride to get a pumpkin. The weather was perfect for a fall day. We look forward to going again next year.

Joby's favorite part of the night--the train!

This was the 2nd time on the carousel. The 1st time Justin was sitting on his own horse.

They were following the "yellow" brick road.

All of us on the train.

Brrrrrr

We were heading out one night and I wanted to find some gloves and scarves to make sure we stayed warm. Joby had so much fun putting on all the items. Take a look...

Hair Raising Fun

We had a little lesson on static electricity. Joby thought it was quite funny to have the balloon stick to his hair. He tried it on Jerni, but her hair wouldn't do anything.

Another Use for the Box

Joby decided to get inside the box with Jerni. They had a lot of fun having Justin push them all over the house.

Sittin' pretty...on a Box!

Joby had the best seat in the house this morning watching his show.

Little Girl, BIG Mess

Jerni had such a good time playing with ALL of the toys and taking them out one by one.

Big Bump

Joby fell the other day and hit his head on the bench at our dining table. I'm not exactly sure how he tripped, but I definately heard the "thud." He was so good and let me ice it for about 15 minutes while he watched a show. It kind of looks like half a devil's horn. That would certainly fit him some days, but good thing we love him anyways.

Soccer Game

This is Joby during his soccer game. The only way you would know he was at his soccer game is he is wearing the jersey.

First Day of Preschool

Today was Joby's first day of Preschool. A few of us Mom's get together to do a home school co-op preschool. Joby is the only boy in his class of 5. Today was the letter A and number 1. I think it's going to be a great year!
PS-Yes, he got a haircut!

Bend it Like Olsen!

Joby had his first practice on Friday and first game today. Coach Becca did a GREAT job with handling the 6 kids. Practice went okay because each kid had their own ball. The game today was a different story. Joby ran off the field about 20 times crying/whining because he fell, he was tired, he needed a snack/drink, someone took the ball, and/or all the above. The kids were running up and down the field, sometimes without the ball, chasing each other.

At practice, getting a pep talk from Coach Becca and learning some rules of soccer.

Made his 1st goal.

Yes, he wore the jersey the whole game and didn't complain once!

This is only one of about twenty times, he came crying off the field during the game.

Joby kicking the ball towards the goal.
